[It isn't a conscious decision that leads her to Lilith's door. She's walking, as she does, but it isn't a solace. Her head is swimming, her clarity muddled. Agnes nearly runs into several people on the way, her surroundings an ultimate mystery to her in her distraction, and it isn't until she's stood at the doorway staring unseeingly at the wood that she realizes where she is.
No doubt, Lilith knows she has a visitor before Agnes even resolves to put her fist to the door. Her mouth parts slightly in her mental debate, at what brought her here unbidden, at what further consequences could come of that choice. There's a piece of her that knows that she can't carry this alone like she's carried so many other things, not with the knowledge that this can and will get worse.
But doesn't she have to? Doesn't she have no choice but to separate herself?
Agnes tells herself to turn around and go, but her feet stay firmly in place as that other piece of her waits staunchly for Lilith to open the door, to eliminate the option for her.]
