Be with them. Comfort them, protect them. Do whatever it is you would do with them.

Comforting them won't get us home.

But it can distract them from what happens until we do.

You asked about magic. Unless they can do something about that a distraction is you better option.

I asked about magic because it seems like the only way to fight this place without starting a war.

Not that a war isn't inevitable, too.

And it can be. But you cannot properly fight what you do not know.
