Somehow he'd see yours coming. Men often are in the habit of underestimating a woman.

He brought it up, and you know what it's like trying to get a straight answer out of him. Besides, I'm more inclined to believe you.

And just what did he tell you?

He wanted to know if he had fallen because he felt affection for a demon. Who betrayed him.

And then he mentioned pleasures of the flesh and married.

He wasn't inaccurate in that.

Though as much as-- teasing him was enjoyable I'd rather not replay the finer details.

The betrayal involved some sort of resistance?

He was working for the government. I was-- allied with those against it. Using his information to aide their movements, to foil his intentions and help save those who would be hurt.

So the government was hurting people somehow, and he was part of it? And you were trying to make sure that didn't happen.

Kind of the opposite of what would be expected of an angel and a demon.

[To most people, anyway. He knows better.]

I told him he shouldn't have trusted a demon.

Perhaps it's the angel that shouldn't be trusted.

( she'd actually helped those in need. those with powers anyway and only really because the resistance slightly worked with her own agenda. it wasn't exactly out of the goodness of her heart )

I just meant that angels should think twice before trusting demons.

Most tend not to regardless.

He's not intelligent for an angel.

Maybe that's why it's so hard for him to understand how free will works.

Is that intelligence or your father's doing? Few angels ever do more than blindly follow his word.
