Is it different for you? Does your magic protect you from any of it?

There have been moments. Though it's difficult to enact a specific protection without more knowledge about what I'm protecting myself from.

Most would prefer that rather than them being kept here.

Under someone else's control should not be where anyone would want to be. Particularly not with the whims we're subjected to here.

Trust me, I know.
I'd rather be home than here, and that's saying something.

There is a way to accomplish that but it won't be simple or as soon as anyone would like.

I assume there are people here that you care about.

They're from my world. Why are you asking?

Be with them. Comfort them, protect them. Do whatever it is you would do with them.

Comforting them won't get us home.

But it can distract them from what happens until we do.

They have distractions.

What about progress?

You asked about magic. Unless they can do something about that a distraction is you better option.

I asked about magic because it seems like the only way to fight this place without starting a war.

Not that a war isn't inevitable, too.

And it can be. But you cannot properly fight what you do not know.

Then how do we figure out what's coming?

By listening to what's around you.
