[Not the serpent, but use of your when it comes to Crowley, considering he knows now that Aziraphale was relatively fresh from getting chastised by the Archangels.

That isn't really why he's here, though.]

Is this going to be an issue? You don't have to like him, but I won't have you hurt him.

[It isn't directly a threat, but it's as close as Crowley has ever gotten to making one, at least with Lilith.]

( and she does sound a little offended by that. had the angel accused her or was crowley daring to threaten her? )

Providing he does nothing I won't.

( she could easily kill an angel but she'd also not risk being killed )

[Crowley likes Lilith. She's been sort of a friend and a good ally, he cares about her, but his priority is Aziraphale. He doesn't care so much about offending her, but he also won't push it past that first reassurance.]

He won't hurt you, he's not like that. [Not that he doesn't think Aziraphale could hurt someone, but he's not inclined towards violence any more than Crowley is.] I'd like to tell him about our contract.

[It doesn't necessarily matter, but he thinks it'll give Aziraphale a better idea of his relationship with Lilith.]

He's an angel.

( and whilst crowley may be assured about that lilith wasn't. he was an angel. all angels were dangerous, not solely to demons but witches, employed as divine witch-hunters. she'd seen it many times over the years, had had some personal encounters-- she wasn't going to trust the angel even with crowley's belief )

You could. Is it necessary?

( it wasn't necessary to keep it private but she preferred people not knowing her business )

He's never hurt me, even when we were properly on opposite sides.

[Here, they're far away from Heaven and Hell, Lilith is a demon but not an enemy. If Aziraphale managed not to smite Crowley for six thousand years, he's unlikely to hurt Lilith.]

It'll make him more inclined to be friendly with you. [Since that's a concern.] And I'm not much in the habit of keeping things from him.

[Aside from like, his feelings, but that doesn't count.]

( even knowing that they're from different worlds it's difficult to accept that he'd treat her any differently to how she expects. it would be similar if someone told her that lucifer truly was kind and not the bastard that she knew him to be )

I don't care if he's friendly.

( she wants him to be far away from her not her friend. she doesn't want an angel around )

Tell him if you must. But only what is necessary.

[Now isn't the time to have a discussion about the fact that Aziraphale's actually kind of great, nor to bring up the fact Crowley thinks he and Lilith could get along once they got past the demon/angel thing.

Well, I'd certainly not expect that to be anyone's business.

( she doesn't go around telling anyone who else she's slept with. it's her business and that's it. especially when it's caused by the influence of duplicity rather than her own complete choice )

Should I be concerned what else you're sharing?

( she knows that she doesn't need to be but he opened this up )

[He looks a bit wry at that statement, because expectations don't get them very far here. Unasked for information is often the name of the game.

He doesn't say that, though. Instead, he tips his head, manages a slightly playful smile.]

I was thinking about telling him you baked me some biscuits.

[Ruining her reputation, right there.]

( she doesn't sigh but her expression manages to convey it instead, lilith drinks a little more )

Be careful what paths you open.

( she knows that he's teasing and if he were teasing about anything other than an angel it'd go better )

But there is one thing I'll permit. You can confirm what I told him-- about Eden.

[He's taking this as seriously as possible when he's deliriously happy.]

Still can't believe he couldn't figure that out himself. Great bloody idiot.

[There was a lot going on, though, and he was likely anxious about all of it, including the things back home, so Crowley will give him a pass.]

( the look she gives him is to suggest that she doesnt find the angel to be particularly smart, wouldn't expect him to. but she finishes it differently )

[Crowley apparently had their shared brain cell that day.]

Stories of you do, though. He's spent too long with that Bible collection, he ought to branch out a bit.

( she also didn't give him her name right until the end, teasing knowledge without giving him it. she didn't want the angel knowing her )

Then perhaps along with-- whatever else you could remind him of that. And set those stories true.

( because she knew the bible stories. she did not appreciate them )

You know, I'm still not sure what is and isn't true.

[He knows some things, has picked them up either from what she's told him or what he can guess, based on how she speaks on certain topics.

Not that he thinks he has a right to know, he's just saying.

Crowley shrugs.]

I'll tell him a bit, if he'd like to know more he can talk to you himself. [a beat, and:] Over the phone, maybe. Just to start.

( the look she gives him absolutely says that she'd rather aziraphale didn't call her but lilith knows that in this place she'll end up encountering him. she does keep meeting the priest )

There isn't that much that he does need.

( though if crowley ever did want to know more, just out of curiosity rather than an expectation she would give him some answers )

But-- perhaps I could clear something up? To not misinform him.

[He just gives her a bland look right back; she's a big girl, she can handle talking to an angel on the phone.]

Is this something I'll be passing along?

[Meaning, is she planning to tell him to tell Aziraphale.]

That would depend on what it is you ask.

( she trusts his judgement and lies has revealed worse about her. she also trusts him enough to not be a dick about it )

[Ah, right.

Crowley almost shakes his head to dismiss the offer, but he regards her for a moment instead, then offers a wry smile.]

Were you really made from clay, or is that a metaphor?

I was created by the false god. There have been those made from clay but not me.

( nor was adam. eve however had been created as the stories said. she'd assume )

A-- miracle you could say.

[demonicmiracle]

[He doesn't think he'll ever get used to the false god, despite his own complicated feelings about the Almighty, but he's not about to say that out loud.]

We ought to start a club for the lot of us without birthdays.

There would likely be more here than we realise. Or those more timeless than they seem.

( and she knows several others that would count )

Well, there's at least three of us demons. [Actually, now he mentions that.] Have you talked much to that other one? Hatter, or whatever it was, like this is bloody Alice in Wonderland.

I haven't purposely sought out any demons.

( despite who and what she is she doesnt actually like many of them. and the witches have kept her busy enough )

[That doesn't help much with his faint concern, but it does make him smile.]
