( if skye thinks she's in trouble she should see exactly what lilith did to lucifer. now that was a show of power.
the threat though-- oh, it makes her laugh. not a complete laugh, a sort of laugh that escapes as if she's trying not to laugh. oh, skye. that was not a threat )
Tell them.
( she says it with complete confidence, absolutely daring her in return. skye was missing the majority of the facts )
You're right, I'm a demon. But that isn't all--
( casually taunting a little. she could easily end this fight and dispose of her but it meant less when your kills returned. other than proving a point )
[Skye laughs, but none of what she just said was actually funny. In fact, it just enrages her more.]
Punished.
[Skye repeats it, as if Mary will realize just how messed up it was for her to say that. She had killed Thor because he went to her for help. Tired of this back and forth going nowhere, Skye tries to use her power again to shove Mary into the wall again. Harder than the last time.]
[Up until now, it would seem like Skye forgot just how powerful Mary was. Thereβs still a lot about her own powers she doesnβt understand, like if there was any way for her to get out of this invisible grip on her. Restraining her from lifting her hand again, or moving at all.]
Because you lied to him. Told him you could help get rid of his sister whoβs dangerous.
[Her voice sounds strained as she struggles to try and break free of whatever spell Mary put on her. As if it would be that simple.]
( because maybe it would mean something more if it referenced skye. who was the one who'd blasted off her door and thrown her against a wall? who'd started this fight? )
The world calls us dangerous because they're afraid. They want you to be afraid of your power instead of owning it.
( she takes a breath, not yet trusting skye to not retaliate if she released her )
I killed him for that reason. He killed his sister in 'justice'. Who would he kill next?
[Itβs not the first time sheβs thought of her powers as dangerous, but for Mary to call her that? Yeah, she doesnβt do a great job of hiding her faltering expression.]
Iβm nothing like you.
[She can see what Mary is trying to do. Manipulate the way she thinks of what she did to Thor. As if she were protecting his sister.]
[In the back of her mind, Skye knew exactly what Mary was trying to do here by letting her go. Feeling so much anger at the moment makes it difficult for Skye to think clearly, so instead of proving herself to be the opposite of Mary, Skye gives in to her anger. Bringing her hand back up, Skye is intent on sending Mary careening into the lamp and subsequently the wall.
Whether it works or not, Skyeβs doubling over in pain clutching her arm.]
( she brings her own hands back up, planning to erect the barrier again. but she isn't quick enough to get it up first, the shockwaves bouncing off the barrier, sending her more forcefully into the lamp and then the wall.
and it surprises her how much it hurts. it's a very different situation to anything that she's been in at home and the last attack she faced-- )
Well, there's your answer.
( but she's far from defeated. her fingers weave her magic, brushes of her fingers at the air as they come to her hand and the shards of glass from the lamp raise up, hovering only seconds before flying towards skye, directed rather than wildly flung )
[Skye only has seconds to respond, and out of instinct she raises her hands in an attempt to shield herself. In doing so, however, Skyeβs powers activate again and create some kind of shield that ricochets most of the glass away from her. Some of the shards do manage to cut her skin however, and the pain of the glass embedding in her skin as well as the fractures in her arm is enough to make her drop her guard again.]
( the thing about shockwaves is that those wider out than the glass keep travelling towards her, reverberating and exciting the molecules in the air. some hit at the wall, others just connect with her but honestly, it's like a fist connecting with her. except it shakes to her bones.
and she's done in this. there are many ways that this conflict could go, including in skye's death but considering that the woman will just come back it doesn't manifest as an option for very long. instead, she wants her gone, allowing lilith to lick her own wounds and plan what she'd do next.
this time her hand raises higher, a flicked gesture in skye's direction. in a swirl of wind skye will find her location different, having teleported her out. she just hadn't been kind enough to send her home, simply wanting her out )
no subject
( it was an important distinction, a fact of her history. what she'd become from then hadn't changed what she'd always been )
But I'm not only a witch.
( she'd dropped a small hint, could tell more but she could tell that skye didn't want to sit and listen )
no subject
[And maybe she should be afraid of her, and what she could do to her, but right now she doesnβt care. She just wants to know where Thor is.]
Tell me what you did to him, or Iβll let everyone in this town know exactly what you are.

The Queen of Hell.
( newly crowned but she'd worked for it for a very long time. eventually dethroning lucifer, the bastard )

[Because itβs working, but Skye is pretty good at lying when she has to.]

( because that's the issue with what history has written about her -- no one ever gets it correct.
and now she takes a step towards her )
And never make a threat that you don't intend to follow through on.

[And theyβre getting off the topic, even if that itself was also a lie.]
Where is he? And I swear to God if you tell me you donβt know again...
no subject
I can't tell you what I have no knowledge of.
( her more smug attitude is gone just as easily as it was there, tone serious because whether or not skye believes her she's telling the truth )
He was punished. I had no reason to find him again.
( and certainly no desire )

the shockwaves hit it and rather than pushing lilith back it rebounds back, shaking through the room.
she lets her barrier fall but quickly uses her magic again, hand grasping at the air, invisible force physically restraining skye. for the moment )
Why do you believe I've done something more?
( aside from having killed him once. but if skye was asking-- was he dead again? )
There's no statue here.

The words of a dangerous woman.
( considering that lilith currently had the upper hand what she does next likely doesn't make sense. but it's for a point.
her hand gripping the air releases, both hands coming to clasp in front of her and skye will feel her body be free again.
