[ Harry has been trying to go it alone, and he's done a fair job of it so far. With the aid of his magic, he's been able to ferret out supplies -- and get his hands on them -- easier than most people would. Traveling from Up to Down and vice versa is easier, too. But as the days pass and the fighting reaches a fever pitch, the end is nowhere in sight. It gets more difficult to find food, medical supplies and the like. It gets more difficult to find hope.
So finally he breaks down and goes to visit his contract holder in the Gray Room. He has no idea why she's been holed up here of all places. It appears safe enough though, and whoever is working the door doesn't even require a mask of him. How kind. ]
( she's not in the room when he arrives but a quick word around the club gets lilith's attention, sending her down to him, ushering away those that had stopped him getting too far to lead him through the room a little )
[ It grates on him a little how Wardwell gets free rein of the place without being a Dominant, seems to act like one and have the privileges of one (like having Submissives contracted to her) while still being, ostensibly, on the same level as Harry. But he shoves that aside because she has been helpful and more or less straightforward with him, as far as he can tell. ]
I'm looking for supplies. [ Cut to the chase, no beating around the bush. ] For Haven and for others in need. I was wondering if you could help.
[ The other thing about the Gray Room that makes Harry uncomfortable: what it is, on a basic level. A club, yes, but a sex club in many points. And they're still continuing with a bit of that despite the situation outside.
Harry shifts in his seat. ]
Just... tinned food. Maybe fresh if we can get it. Mostly basic things like aspirin, alcohol, sutures and such for the medicine.
[ Stuff to heal wounds, wounds suffered during a war. ]
[ Not that he thinks of Wardwell as being a coward in particular. But it's safe here, relatively, and they're both Submissives. True, of all people, they'd probably have the easiest time moving from place to place thanks to their magic. But it's still a chance that he's impressed she'd be willing to take. ]
[ There's a slight twitch of his head in question -- because he knows well enough not to trust her completely -- but after a half second, he goes ahead and takes her hand.
He does take a deep breath, but a calm one, suspecting that magic's about to happen. And that's not something he needs to be afraid of. At least, if something bad's about to happen, he doesn't need to tense up and panic before it's even occurred. ]
( she teleports them to haven, though it'll be much smoother than harry's used to with apparating, no chance of splinching and far less disorientation. she releases his hand once there's there, a quick second to look him over before asking-- )
[ He looks perfectly fine. Having steeled himself for Apparation, he's only a little surprised to find that the journey isn't nearly as unsettling as his magic.
He takes it all in stride and heads towards the back of the clinic, where the beds are.
They're all partitioned off by curtains, where they can, but there's only so many beds and there are a lot of people. Their injuries are obviously from the war brewing outside: burns and blood and broken bones. A few are sick with ailments that struck them before the fighting started, but if they can get a few more wounded to the status of walking wounded, that would be good. ]
( she stops in the room, surveying the beds and variety of injuries present on them. she doesn't need to ask about it, knows how the war outside is going and has seen other similar things before.
she moves to someone more gravely injured first, knowing that lighter injuries can be tended to in other means, kneeling herself by the bed. she came here to heal and it's exactly what she's going to do.
the only sound to come to her is a quick, quiet shush as her hands move to hover over the burns, a light wave of her fingers as she carries out the spell. there's no visible sign of her magic other than the slow healing of the wound, red of the burn lessening, pain decreasing, wound starting to close )
[ Harry watches, quietly impressed. He's more than a little familiar with Miss Wardwell's magic by now, but he's never seen it used to heal. He adores Madame Pomfrey, but her magic is mostly potions, some wandwork for simple wounds. This is something different, something far more powerful.
He stands near her. The man exhales, relaxes, seems to sink back into the cot. He clearly feels less pain, if even no pain at all. ]
Thank you. [ His voice is soft but earnest.
Harry smiles faintly and touches Wardwell's shoulder. There are a few more in as the same strife as this man, a few more could use some help. ]
( she gives a nod at harry's gesture, rising from the man without a word, moving to another cot, healing in a similar manner again, tending several others before stopping, turning to him )
There's more that needs to be done and not simply in healing.
( more wounded will just appear if this war isn't ended )
Not all preventative measures result in an attack.
( at least not an all out war, though they already were in one )
Warding, creating safe havens. Like here. Without proper boundaries those recovering won't remain safe.
( and it was this with him that she'd do. lilith could go out and attack in the way but it wasn't her style and she didn't plan to be dragged involved. instead, she'd protect and heal, something she is very good at doing )
[ In fact, he's set a few up in Haven already. But he's not surprised that she doesn't notice them. Maybe she can't feel his magic, much like he can't feel hers specifically, only in a general sense. Or maybe, comparatively speaking, they're just too weak. There's a dozen reasons. ]
I've got a few up, but they're not exactly my specialty.
( hers were strong but then pretty much anything done from her magic was powerful, the advantage of being as old as she was, as practised )
Combining magic, for my world at least strengthens the spell. There are-- glamours that can be cast to hide the people here, make them seem as if they were not here.
They were able to bring us here, prevent us from being able to use our magic to leave. They may be able to break our spells.
( though perhaps not immediately. their better chances were on things that lies hadn't created, smaller spaces and periods of time but temporarily this would work. temporarily )
[ It's a sobering answer, not something that inspires at all. But at least they are both on the same page here. They know it's just plugging a leak in a dam, but it's what they can do for the moment.
Harry's just eager to take on the whole damn deluge. ]
Then let's get started. At least there's a chance, for a little while.
I cast an intruder charm and a caterwaulling charm. Both let you know when, well, an intruder is trying to get in, just one's louder than the other.
Most of what I know that's... subtle works against magic. I can charm the place against magical attacks for forever. Otherwise, it's an all or nothing sort of deal. A shield that doesn't let anybody in. For emergencies.

If there is a lack of medical items any I give you wouldn't last long. But I may be able to help in a different way.
( magic. she was adept at healing -- it had been the first spell she'd ever cast )
If you'll take me to them.

Leave here?

You mentioned Haven. I assume that anyone injured is there?
no subject
Yes. They have a few magical people, but for the most part they're just relying on muggle medicine.
And we never took a healing class at Hogwarts.
no subject
( take a healing class at hogwarts, obviously. lilith holds out her hand to him, planning to teleport him there, unaware that he can do it himself )
Take a deep breath.

Layering charm atop of charm, that's how we do it back home.
How much do you think this'll work against LIES though, if they really wanted to know what was going on? Stop it?
