( he's lucky that waverly's not home or this would give her a lot to explain, something that had been on her mind anyway but the girl had never found out. not yet.
but she nods, putting the book aside that she'd been studying )
I was asked to do this - we both know and dislike the person benefiting, but I hardly think that matters. The thing inside of him apparently ventures out when he sleeps, causes nightmares, and makes him watch. According to Martin - unfortunate last name - Blackwood, the Eye feeds off of this. Off the fear caused by this.
I though you might have an idea of where I could start.
[Nick wants to be clear: he's not interested, really, in Jon's suffering here, and his tone alone suggests that.]
Whatever suffering he's enduring, I don't care. My concern is that he sees the secrets of others. Specifically, Sabrina. You. Me. Dorian. Ambrose.
[So you know. He's being protective of his people.]
Especially when that suffering is layered with knowledge of specific rites and rituals.
( she doesn't like it. he'll know that she doesn't like it given their shared opinions of the man but-- nick's right. it isn't about him. there's a lot that lilith knows, a lot that she's done that she'd prefer to keep a secret. no one pries inside her head )
It isn't as simple as just a spell. Some demons have-- specific weaknesses.
( she also doesn't like admitting all of this, given that she's also a demon. but she trusts that in this (and perhaps generally) they have a sort of alliance. he's been respectful to her, entirely so. perhaps enough that he wouldn't turn this around to her )
( she's quiet for a moment, two ideas forming in her head -- doing what nick has suggested and leaving the man to his hell or-- freeing him for it )
There claims to be no Hell here-- ( other than the one of their creation ) but exorcising it-- if it could be contained afterwards is an option.
( and it wouldn't be the first exorcism she's done here. if this thing reacted similarly. if it didn't-- well, the guy would experience a little more of that hell )
[He doesn't like to contradict her so baldly, but they're talking about magic and demons, and Nick isn't going to get anywhere by not speaking to her like he knows what he's talking about.]
I think it's more meshed in him like that. Maybe if we had seen him when it first latched onto him, but now? I think it's as much as part of his soul as anything.
[He sighs just a little.]
It would be easier if we could just kill him. That would solve everyone's problems.
( sigh. she moves to sit on the couch, resting her elbow on the arm of it, tipping her head to the side to rest it on her hand. it would have to be a spell to block the demon. at least until they knew more )
If it ventures out when he sleeps-- ( lilith probably shouldn't do what she's considering but if they want to be successful they need to know as much as possible, perhaps more than what martin knows ) Does Mr Blackwood know any more?
astral projection
[He doesn't astral project often, but he does it today because it's a little bit less invasive than just showing up in person.]
no subject
but she nods, putting the book aside that she'd been studying )
I assume there's cause.
( to just show up as such )
no subject
[He keeps an eye out.]
Do you know a spell to keep a demon from infecting others dreams?
no subject
( she assumes it's their good friend mr. simms but she won't throw that out there yet.
but also whose dream? and what have they done? )

What do you know of this demon?
no subject
That's what it feeds from. Watching. Eyes, following you, those fears. I think it's a fear thing more than anything.

That's just it. I don't think it is.

[He presses his hand against his mouth - well. There's no solidity but its hard to break those habits. He's thinking.]
He's resisting telling me. I can ask, though.

( he has it in him, right? he's gotten so far it would be a shame if he couldn't do this one task )
Any more he knows would help craft the more effective means of containing it.
